51 years since inception, PKNS spurs development in Selangor

SHAH ALAM, 4 AUG: The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) is determined to continue driving sustainable development in Selangor in conjunction with its 51st anniversary.

Public Relations Manager, Ishak Hashim, said the corporation has gone through many ups and downs in its efforts to be stronger and more competitive in the next 50 years to come.

“PKNS managed to build 11 cities in the state such as Shah Alam, Petaling Jaya, Bangi, Ampang Ulu Klang, Kelana Jaya, Bandar Sultan Suleiman, Kota Damansara, Kota Puteri, Antara Gapi, Bernam Jaya, and Taman Sains Selangor 2 (SSP2).

“This was achieved thanks to the service and dedication of PKNS staff until we successfully forged a name that is on par with other major corporations,” he said at the 51st Anniversary celebration in the Shah Alam Convention Centre (SACC) recently.

During the event, over 1,000 staff were celebrated for sharing in the corporation’s success, strength, and stability for the past 51 years.

Meanwhile, Ishak said the support and hard work contributed by PKNS staff has led to the corporation receiving various awards throughout the years.

Among these successes are the Top 10 Developer Awards from BCI Asia Awards 2015, the Platinum Design Assessment of Green Building Index (GBI) for the PKNS website and the Asia Pacific Property Awards Development 2013-2014 for the category of Best Office Development in Malaysia.

“The corporation also received the Abdul Rahman Bin Auf Award in 2014 for its performance in the distribution of PKNS business zakat funds,” he said.
