Village infrastuctures in Sekinchan to be upgraded for tourist hub

SHAH ALAM, 15 JUNE: Besides being an important source for the state economy, the agriculture sector run by the village community in Sekinchan will be promoted as part of the state tourism product.

This is because of the uniqueness and attractiveness of agricultural products, marine sources and natural beauty of the view in the fishing villages and agricultural lands within the villages of Sekinchan. These factors are high potentials to be part of Selangor’s tourism hub.

Sekinchan state assemblyman, Ng Suee Lim said his team will ensure that the infrastructure upgrades in the village are successful and will assist in efforts to ensure the village is flood-free.

“We plan to beautify Sekinchan by upgrading the drainage system to avoid floods and also to upgrade and repair faulty roads so road users can feel secure and safe while using the new roads.

“There are no fixed time frame for the upgrade works as we will continue to upgrade from time to time.

“It is so that we can analyze the change and uprade works together according to the cultural needs and requirements from time to time and also depending on the financial status” said Suee Lim in a statement to Selangor Kini, today.

Suee Lim also plans to upgrade recreational facilities and to add greeneries in Sekinchan by planting more trees to beautify the landscape of Sekinchan.

“The Pakatan Rakyat state government of Selangor will provide fair treatment to its citizen’s disregard of race when it comes to infrastructural ideas such as bridges and roads. For the time being, old wooden bridges that is a worry to the safety of the citizens in fishing villages has been replaced.

“Recreational facilities such as basketball courts and community halls are being upgraded with roofs,metal fences and others being replaced. I too have plans to build traditional Malay arches for Malay villages such as Parit 7 village,” he added.

He also said that recreational facilities should be made as a place where the community meet to enhance relationships among each other and the condition of these facilities will be constantly monitored to ensure that the condition remains well.
