43 ‘Selangorku Sejahtera’ projects developed under local authorities

SHAH ALAM, 17 June: The Selangor Government has approved an allocation of RM16 million to all local authorities in the state.

The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, informed this to the Selangor Local Authority Star Rating Appreciation 2014 event at the Silver Jubilee Hall yesterday.

The Executive Councillor for Local Government, Teng Chang Khim, said that the approved allocation will cover 43 projects packaged under the ‘Selangorku Sejahtera’ name.

“It has been approved and the development allocation will be channelled to local authorities as a whole,” he said.

Teng said that the State Government will also continue other provisions from time to time, including the purchase of equipment, and is coordinating the solid waste problem in Selangor proactively.

“Among the steps taken is the preparation of the draft Bill for the management and disposal of solid waste in the state.

“The State Government is also currently increasing detailed studies on waste management services,” he said.
