3,149 dengue cases recorded in Subang Jaya

SUBANG JAYA, 8 June: A total of 3,149 dengue cases have been reported in the area of the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) as of May 31, where 2,798 of the cases were positive.

The MPSJ Corporate Communication and Relations Department, in a statement, said that from the total number of cases reported, 21 cases were recorded as dengue hemorrhagic fever and 15 of the cases were positive.

According to the statement, the statistics of dengue cases in areas under MPSJ’s administration involves 31 localities where the outbreak is controlled, five uncontrolled localities and eight hotspots.

Among the hotspots identified are USJ 11/2 (36 cases), Kompleks Suria (5 cases), Taman Universiti Indah 1 (11 cases), USJ 9/2 to USJ 9/3J (10 cases), TK 4 (terraced housing) 11 cases, Vista Pinggiran (21 cases), Lagoon Perdana (6 cases) and SS17/2 (10 cases).

Meanwhile, the five areas identified as uncontrolled outbreak localities are PJS9/2 to PJS 9/30 (9 cases), SS 15/6 (3 cases), Apartment Sri Nipah, Taman Pinggiran USJ (7 cases), Jalan Teratai, Taman Puchong Perdana (5 cases) and Flat Puchong Permai (4 cases).

The statement also informed that there have been five deaths due to dengue in areas under MPSJ’s administration so far – at Pangsapuri Mawar Jaya, Kota Perdana; Pangsapuri Putra Raya, Tmn Pinggiran Putra; Bandar Kinrara 1; Vista Lavender, TK 3 and One Avenue Condo, USJ 1
