SHAH ALAM, 7 Feb: The actions of a group of non-governmental organisations (NGO) offering RM500 as a reward to whoever can slap her is extreme, Teresa stressed.
The Member of Parliament for Seputeh said that the extreme reward will certainly not be agreed by any sensible person.
“This move appears to be revenge against the recent satirical Chinese New Year video clip.
“I am sure that Ministers of Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) do not endorse this outrageous offer,” she said on her Facebook status.
The offer was made by an activist of the Malaysian Muslim Consumers Association (PPIM), Mustafa Hamzah, during a gathering at Jalan Tun Perak yesterday.
Mustafa said that the reward will be given cash to the young people who dares to defend the country.
The Malaysian Insider portal reported that the offer has now gone up to RM1,200.
In related developments, Teresa, who is also the DAP Vice Chairman, is expected to make a police report related to the threats today.
