SUNGAI BULOH, OCT 17: Subang Member of Parliament R Sivarasa is certain that at least 70% of Indian voters, especially in Paya Jeras Constituency, will remain supportive in the next general election.

He said that his confidence is based on feedback received from the community in many aspects, including random indications received and feedback on State Government’s projects.

“I believe that the 70% support we received from the India community during the 13th General Election (GE13) will remain, in fact it is not impossible that this percentage will increase particularly in Paya Jaras,” he said to SelangorKini at the Program Jom Shopping Perayaan Deepavali DUN Paya Jaras which was held at the Econsave vehicle parking area on October 15.

He said, at the moment, support from the Indian community towards programmes organised in state constituencies in the Subang parliamentary constituency  has increased compared to before the GE13 due to the improved image of the State Government as a government that the community can trust and depend on.

“Before GE13, we still had strong support from the community but we saw it increasing  considerably after that,” he said.

He added that the State Government has managed to garner this level of support from the Indian community when the community realised the relentless effort the State Government has taken in order to protect the community’s interest.
