SHAH ALAM, 21 Sept: The Department of Valuation and Property Management emerged as the champion for the Patriotism Competition Among Departments in conjunction with the Merdeka Month 2015 for the Klang Municipal Council (MPK).
The Head of Corporate Communications, Norfiza Mahfiz, said that the inaugural competition received encouraging response in MPK’s effort to increase the spirit of patriotism and to spread love for the country.
“Second place went to the Management Services Department while the Urban Planning Department came in third for the category.
“Each department was given a two weeks to complete their patriotic corners,” she said.
Meanwhile, he said that Nur Zaewani Yusof, from the Legal Department, won the Merdeka Poster competition and took home a cash prize of RM300, a trophy and a certificate.
Meanwhile, Siti Aslinda Omar, also from the Legal Department, won second place and took home RM200, a trophy and a certificate, while third place was won by Nor Fareeza Mohd Jajuli, also from the Corporate and Community Department.
“In addition, this programme also laid the foundations for all MPK staff to prove their loyalty in expressing the spirit of love for the country through their creativity according to the categories,” she said.
The prizes were presented by the MPK acting Yang Dipertua, Ahmad Kahiri Md Yusof, and was attended by the Acting Secretary, Zahrin Md Nasir, department heads, officers and staff involved.
