SHAH ALAM, JUL 2: The Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) has set the time for Aidilfitri prayers in Selangor this year to be at 8:30 am.
JAIS Director Datuk Haris Kasim said the standardisation is to avoid confusion and inconsistency among congregations in the suraus and mosques in Selangor.
“With the timing set, we hope Muslims will have ample time to make their way to suraus and mosques to perform Aidilfitri prayers,” he said at a breaking fast ceremony with the media and JAIS officers.
JAIS also took the opportunity to advise and remind all Muslims to celebrate Aidilfitri with simplicity and to strengthen relationships with visits to families and friends.
“On behalf of JAIS, I would like to wish everyone a happy Aidilfitri with the wish ‘Taqabbalallahu minna waminkum’.
“May Allah bless our deeds throughout Ramadan. ‘Maaf Zahir Batin’,” he said.
