SHAH ALAM, SEP 12: Selat Klang Assemblyman Dr Halimah Ali contributed RM10,000 to Pulau Ketam Secondary School in order to reduce its burden in upgrading its infrastructure.

Through her Facebook postings, she expressed her disappointment towards the ministry’s indifferent attitude in repairing the school’s co-curriculum court that collapsed, toilets and canteen that are in very bad condition.

“The school held a fund-raising ceremony to repair its infrastructure, a duty the Education Ministry had failed to carry out for the last four years.

“The school projected that RM1 million is required to fully repair all the damage,” she said.

Halimah added that the Parents and Teachers Association has to struggle to find sufficient funds from the villagers, school alumni and other donors as the Government was only willing to contribute RM300,000.

“I am very proud with Pulau Ketam’s residents and the school alumni who were willing to contribute to the special fund,” she said.

Majlis Makan Malam Kutipan Derma SMK Pulau Ketam was held at the SJKC Hwa Lien’s courtyard in Pulau Ketam.
