SHAH ALAM, SEP 13: The Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) has allocated RM100,000 for sewerage system upgrades at Persiaran Kewajipan to curb floods.

Subang Jaya Assemblyman Hannah Yeoh said that work will be focused at the USJ 6, USJ 9 dan USJ 14 intersection.

“Flood mitigation work in USJ 6 is undertaken by Prasarana with a cost of RM1 million, while work at USJ 9 and USJ 14 will be done by MPSJ with a cost of RM100,000.

“The upgrading work includes expanding sewerage systems to accommodate water flow from USJ 6 residential areas along Persiaran Perpaduan to Kelang River.

“The project is expected to be completed this October,” she said.

Hannah said that the upgrading work is the final solution to flash floods that have been going on for the past two years, causing traffic jams along the entire Persiaran Kewajipan.
