SHAH ALAM, MAY 25: The Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) has begun plans to implement the Smart Mosque Concept programme in this state.

Its Director, Dato’ Haris Kasim said, it is a result of the brainstorming session during the JAIS ReTreat Programme with agencies under Selangor Islamic Welfare Standing Committee in Kedah recently.

He said, a committee has been set up to conduct discussions from time to time to prepare towards implementing the concept.

“Selangor as a progressed state under Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali intends to realise the Smart Selangor concept by 2015.

“Therefore, Smart Mosque being consistent with the State Government’s goal should be fully supported, especially by mosque officials themselves,” he said.

He was speaking at the 2017 Enliven Ramadan and ‘Moreh’ & Incentive Distribution for Mosques and Surau at Masjid Negeri yesterday.
